Our fellowship at a glance.

2023 graduating fellows

Since 1994, the Harvard-wide Pediatric Health Services Research (HSR) Fellowship has trained more than 175 researchers who have gone on to lead successful independent research careers, including more than 60 alumni holding academic and clinical leadership positions, and four alumni elected to the National Academy of Medicine. Our training curriculum is grounded in rigorous child health services research training and in-depth implementation science training, aligned with learning health system competencies.

The fellowship, which is a collaboration of three training sites — Boston Children’s Hospital, Mass General Brigham for Children, and Harvard Medical School Department of Population Medicine/Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Institute — includes more than 50 interdisciplinary faculty members across Harvard.

Our goal

The principal goal of our two-year program is to provide outstanding, comprehensive training across the spectrum of pediatric health services research methods that both advances understanding of equitable health and healthcare systems, and tests and evaluates implementation of novel approaches that demonstrably improve child health.
